Anti-Aging Tea- Burdock Root Tea (Gobo Cha)



In Japan, apart from regular green tea, there are many kinds of herbal healthy tea available in drug stores. Recently, Burdock Root Tea has become very popular in Japan after broadcasting on TV. Burdock Root contains Inulin which is natural dietary fiber to improve digestion and remedy for skin problems. 
In addition the skin of Burdock root also has Sapoinin  which helps in lowering the cholesterol in the blood.
Burdock root has very powerful anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial effects. In a recent study, it says that antioxidants in Burdock root could be even higher if it gets roasted. The benefit of drinking this tea is prevented from aging and supported weight loss. The taste  is very earthy, rich and nice aroma. Some may find it difficult to drink due to the strong aroma.




Ingredients 
4 Fresh Burdock roots

1. Wash the burdock root well and use a vegetable peeler to shred it finely.


2. Spread it on bamboo stainer and sun dry for half day.
3. Roast it with medium heat until becoming golden brown.
4. Well done Burdock Root Tea.
 5. Store them in the air tight container or jar.
 6. Put 3g of roasted Burdock Root in a teapot, pour in 400ml hot water, keep it for 3 minutes and the tea is ready to serve.

  1. Great gobo-cha burdock root tea recipes. Picture really help make following instructions easier. I recommend using burdock root left over after drinking tea to make gobo salad ( http://slism.com/diet/3-burdock-root-recipes.html ). All you got to do is mix with chicken and sprouts. And don't forget Japanese sake. It makes a great side dish that can be eaten with rice.
